De******ion : Un jeu de caisses différent des autres, voilà la première impression laissée par Test Drive Unlimited qui persiste d'ailleurs jusqu'au bout de l'aventure. Cette singularité naît à la fois du mélange de l'audacieuse partie multi et du solo, mais aussi de la liberté totale offerte au joueur dans un cadre agréable et des plus réalistes. Une certaine authenticité qui tranchera toutefois avec le laxisme de la police mais aussi l'absence de dégâts sur sa voiture, de météo et d'un cycle jour/nuit. L'ambiance du jeu tout entier en prend donc un sacré coup. C'est d'autant plus dommageable que TDU remplit avec brio le reste de son contrat, comprenant une plastique impressionnante, des licences attrayantes, une durée de vie colossale et un pilotage intuitif. Malgré tout, sur PC, les six longs mois d'attente supplémentaires ne semblent pas entièrement justifiés, surtout vu le nombre de bugs et de plantages rencontrés au fil des courses. Reste donc à espérer qu'un patch vienne corriger tout cela en un temps record.
